Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need an appointment for bike service?
Do I need an appointment for bike service?
During peak season (March–July), appointments are strongly recommended and often required due to high volume and limited storage space. In the off-season, walk-ins are welcome. We always do our best to accommodate walk-ins when possible, but booking ahead is the best way to guarantee service.
How long does bike service usually take?
How long does bike service usually take?
Turnaround times vary based on the type of service and time of year.
- Quick jobs (like flat tires) are often done on the spot
- Tune-ups typically take 2–3 days during peak season with an appointment
- More complex repairs are handled on a case-by-case basis
If you have a race, trip, or event coming up, let us know — we’ll do our best to help.

Do you service bikes that weren’t purchased at Quick Cranks?
Yes. We service bikes regardless of where they were purchased. If the bike is from a brand we carry, we can also help with manufacturer warranty support, even if it was bought at another shop (original receipt required).
Can you give me a quote before servicing my bike?
Can you give me a quote before servicing my bike?
We can provide estimated price ranges based on the service requested, but final pricing is determined by a service writer after inspecting the bike. We always aim to communicate clearly before proceeding with any additional work.

If something doesn’t feel right after service, bring the bike back in — no appointment needed. We’ll take a look and make it right. Your safety and satisfaction are our priority.
Is winter a good time to get service done?
Is winter a good time to get service done?
Yes — winter is actually the best time for major service. We’re less busy, turnaround times are shorter, and it helps you avoid spring waitlists. We also offer winter-specific services like fat bike setup, trainer installs, skate sharpening, and ski waxing.
